Why Do I Need an Eye Test?
Your eye test in Market Drayton is carried out by one of our qualified Optometrists.
We recommend that most adults have an eye test every two years, even if you haven’t noticed a change to your eyesight. This is because eye exams can detect general health problems and early signs of eye conditions before you're aware of any symptoms, many of which can be treated if found early enough.
Eye examinations therefore check more than just your prescription, but play an important role in keeping your eyes healthy and spotting potentially sight threatening problems such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
What Happens in an Eye Examination?
Your eye examination will last for approximately 25 - 35 minutes, to allow time for our optometrist to thoroughly examine your eyes and vision.
During this time, you will be asked to complete a series of tests which are all designed to assess your visual status (whether you might be long or short-sighted) and eye health. None of these are difficult or painful in any way, but are important for our optometrist to be able to accurately prescribe any eyewear, if this is necessary.
We have invested in the latest optical technology that enables us to thoroughly check the health of your eyes. You will be given the option of including an OCT scan as part of your eye examination.

If you are ever concerned about your vision, at any point, book an appointment and we can take a look. We can advise on eye symptoms and refer you for any follow up treatment if required to save you a visit to your GP.
